If you haven’t already noticed, we care a whole lot about ingredients and sourcing. Have you ever wondered why our ice cream tastes different than store-bought? So much of what sets us apart is what we put into our products. In our All About That Base blog, you read about the laborious process we go through weekly (and oftentimes bi-weekly) to make sure our ice cream has the best core possible. Everything that goes into both our dairy and vegan bases is vital to the resulting flavors. Beyond that, every part of each flavor’s composition is equally important to creating a delicious frozen or baked treat.

While we try to source as many ingredients as possible from organic farms and companies, our commitment to everything local is just as high a priority. We also recognize that simply relying on the “Certified Organic” label doesn’t always ensure a high quality product. We delve deeper into the company’s core values to make sure they align with ours. Often that means using products that don’t necessarily have all the certifications, especially when buying local. Establishing relations with vendors locally and around the United States translates to more transparency for our customers. We are on a first-name basis with our coffee roasters and the farmers that grow our local produce, and we’ve even visited the Amish farms that raise the cows our milk comes from. Our success is due in large part to how connected we are to not only our process, but the processes of our suppliers.

We work as a family sharing many of the same core values when it comes to food and the environment. This feeds the passion we have for making and selling our handcrafted goods. Educating our staff about each part of the process and every ingredient we use is so vital to our operation. Just like any industry, the best way to sell a product is by believing in it.
